ST. ANDREWS – A new proposed residential development has been announced for the corner of Mowat Drive and Bar Road in St. Andrews, NB. A formal presentation of the proposal and application for property re-zoning will be made to Town Council on November 8th.
The proposed residential development will feature a garden home community of 25 two-bedroom, two-bathroom, one-level homes named Van Horne Garden Homes, perfect for those looking to ease into slower-paced living without giving up the comforts and independence of their own domain. The homes have been designed from the ground up with convenience, practicality, quality, style and energy-efficiency in mind. Everything around you will be maintained and taken care of, including grounds and snow removal, giving you peace and ease of mind. These 1,356 sq. ft. homes allow you to stretch your legs with ease while providing an intimate living experience.
“We are excited for the opportunity to work with the Town of St. Andrews to bring a first-class development to this beautiful part of the world,” Charlie Bourgeois, owner of the proposed project, said. “Based on recent surveys and discussions with the town, we believe there is strong demand for garden home living, and we can’t think of a better community to invest in for this development.”
The development group is led by owners Charlie and Colleen Bourgeois, with involvement from Hughes Surveys of Saint John, Moncton-based Steve Davies of Local Development Group, and Tim Lyons with Atlantic Commercial Brokerage.
About Van Horne Garden Homes
Our community is proudly named after Sir William Van Horne, who played a major role in the economic development and support of the region.
The railroad visionary united Canada by completing the railway coast-to-coast in 1885. He put St. Andrews on the map as Canada’s first, and oldest, seaside resort, bringing many of his friends to the shores of Passamaquoddy Bay. Van Horne’s Ministers Island is now designated as a National and Provincial park.
Given its connection to the very roots of Canada, Ministers Island is a story well worth preserving for present and future generations, and well within view and walking distance of Van Horne Garden Homes.
We share the same goals of unity as our namesake did in completing the railroad; we envision a community around the homes with the goals of maximum enjoyment of home and surroundings in mind.
Hosted in one of the province’s most vibrant, yet relaxing, communities, St. Andrews provides wonderful attractions, shopping, dining, and community events just a short distance away from your Van Horne Garden Home. Breathing in the sea air of Passamaquoddy Bay refreshes the mind while walking alongside the many buildings reflecting the long history of the town. There’s a reason why USA Today named St. Andrews as the best place to visit in Canada.
